The 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests comes at the perfect time to demonstrate the danger of authoritarianism, the importance of human rights, the vital role of a free press, the need to remember even the darkest chapters of history, and lots of other nice-sounding lessons nobody will ever learn.

Why We Fight
The rally 'round the flag effect can be dangerously tempting. One of Trump's only redeeming qualities on the campaign trail was his reluctance to go to war, but I'm not so sure it'll outweigh his pathological need for praise.
